Recommended Events

Held in the city of Oruro in February or March, this carnival is one of the most important cultural events in Bolivia and has been declared a UNESCO Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. It’s famous for its spectacular folk dances, elaborate costumes, and the Diablada, a dance that depicts the struggle between good and evil.

This religious festival takes place in La Paz, usually in May or June. It’s a celebration in honor of El Señor del Gran Poder (Jesus Christ), featuring a large procession with thousands of dancers and musicians performing traditional Bolivian dances in colorful costumes.

Celebrated throughout August, this is an Andean tradition where people give offerings to Pachamama, seeking blessings for good health, luck, and harvests. The ceremonies, conducted by indigenous shamans, include offerings of food, flowers, and coca leaves.
